Ground Source Heating Design and Consultancy for Commercial and Residential Projects
Expert ground source heat pump designers and engineers from feasibility to expert witness
We need reliable, secure, efficient and clean energy: and ground source heat pumps are a cornerstone of this mission.
They represent the most cost effective and environmentally friendly form of any heating and cooling system available today.
The Genius Energy Lab team designs ground source heating systems for large-scale commercial and residential new builds, retrofit systems for existing facilities and plans for district heat networks.
We provide a 360-degree GSHP design and consultancy service, including concept, feasibility, design, implementation oversight, and expert witnessing - offering unlimited design revisions to the point of installation.
Ground source heating represents the most cost effective and environmentally friendly form of any heating and cooling system available today.
GSHPs can be used effectively in a wide range of various building types, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
They’re also around 400% efficient: for every unit of energy inputted to run the heat pump itself, around four units are generated. For comparison, a traditional condensing gas boiler is around 85% efficient.
For energy efficiency, security and the transition to net zero, ground source heating and cooling is affordable, reliable and ESG compliant.
Why Choose GSHP for Your Large-scale Commercial or Residential Project ?
Efficiency
High energy efficiency and reduced operational costs
Sustainability
Low environmental impact and reduced carbon emissions
Scalability
Ideal for large-scale applications, urban developments and district heat networks
Reliability
Consistent and reliable energy supply

Our Ground Source Heating Projects
Decarbonising Public Buildings - The Department for Education (DfE)
Project Description: Genius Energy Lab was brought on board to deliver ground source heat pumps as the heating and cooling solution for The Department for Education across seven schools in Northern England as part of a £18.6m innovative Decarbonisation Pilot.
Retrofitting a Residential Development - Enfield Tower Blocks
Project Description: The team designed a large shared ground loop array to service Kensa Contracting’s Shoebox heat pumps retrofit in 400 flats within eight tower blocks in this urban residential area.
How we get to work: RIBA stages
